Audi TT: The Reviews Keep Coming in!

Here's another review on the 2008 Audi TT. I am still finding myself surprised at the sheer volume, even though this has become common of late -- first with the Audi R8 launch, and now with the Audi TT.

This time Car Pages gets into the action with their review. After reading the first sentence, you get the feeling that the reviewer did not enjoy the car. However, they are clearly fooling with you and then gives you the goods on the all new 2008 Audi TT.

Here are a few excerpts:

Still clearly a TT, the new coupe has been completely and cleverly re-designed. To my mind for the better and, dare I say, it was about time as the first TT was launched last millennium. Well, 1999 to be exact. There is nothing ’hairdresser’ about the new car so maybe the denigrators can drop that epithet now.....

.....It isn’t just the outside that has changed. Underneath the sleek, elegant body, the engineers have been hard at work in their efforts to reduce weight, while retaining body rigidity and dynamics. To this end they’ve done away with the all-steel construction and opted for an aluminium and steel hybrid ASF (Audi Space Frame).....

.....Borrowed from the Audi RS4, the TT now comes with a flat-bottomed, sports steering wheel, which allows drivers of all sizes to take advantage of the rake and reach-adjustable column and extra seat travel without having the steering wheel resting on their lap.....

.....All new TT's have dual-stage front airbags, along with side airbags on the front seats and a whiplash protection function. The steering wheel is designed to collapse by 100mm in the event of a collision and the pedals move away from the driver’s feet should it become necessary.....
