It looks like the Audi R8 TDI picture is starting to come into full view. Just earlier this week, Car and Driver was reporting that Audi executives were seriously considering bring the diesel powered R8 TDI to market in 2009. Now the folks at AutoExpress are confirming it.
Who can argue with a supercar performance and up to 30mpg?
Here are a few excerpts:
The firm will make the R8 available with its new 4.2-litre V8 TDI unit late next year. Currently powering the Q7 SUV, the oil-burner produces 322bhp and 760Nm of torque. How-ever, it is likely to be tuned further for the R8, pumping out more than 350bhp and 800Nm of torque.[Source: AutoExpress]
